Ciara Horne Confirmed As Part Of British Olympic Cycling Team For Rio 2016

Ciara Horne will be joining the British Olympic Cycling Team at Rio 2016

  • Here at SLM Nissan we are excited to announce that Ciara Horne has been officially confirmed as part of the British Olympic Cycling Team for the Rio Olympics 2016.

Ciara and 24 of her British Cycling teammates, including Laura Trott, Rebecca James and Bradley Wiggins, will be competing for medals this summer. About the achievement, Ciara said:

"I'm going to the Olympic Games! Since the age of 10; this has been my goal; so to be able to write that in a blog feels quite surreal! I remember watching the Sydney Games in 2000 and being glued to Athens in 2004. I made a scrap book of all my sporting heroes and recently found it which brought a smile to my face! So quite literally, this is a dream come true.

The second part of my dream is to win an Olympic title. I always pride myself on working hard and giving 100% in sessions and there isn't a day that goes by where Rio isn't on my mind. I'm doing absolutely everything I can to make the start line in the team pursuit and to ensure I am in the best possible shape come the Games. The goal for me between now and the Games is to be consistent in training, keep building on my current form and remain illness and injury free...

    Bring on Rio!"

Everyone at SLM Nissan would like to say huge congratulations to Ciara. We are all extremely proud and we wish her the very best of luck in Rio!
